Welp, bought VIRTUA FIGHTER 4 this weekend for Playstation 2. Yup, it rocks. The training system is insanely detailed, and the AI mode, which I haven't fully explored yet, proves very promising. I'm still green, but seeing some of the stuff the CPU pulls off makes me jealous. This is a good game! I'm wondering how Tekken and the new Mortal Kombat are going to stand up to it.

"Are you looking at my headgear?" - ok, that was classic. Perfect. Sigh. And yeah, I do need a backrub. I need a backrub, a masseuse (pff), and a pedicure. I want a facial, a glacial, and palatial estates. I also need more time. I got some horses - you got some time?

Something tells me that Morbus needs a backrub. Any young lassies care to volunteer? I sure as hell know I'm not driving over there to do it. I don't like him in *that* way...

Well, this is funny. The number of mail I received yesterday (total size, number of messages, saved location). I knew unsubscribing from those lists was more than fate. Phear my evil. Pfff.

Welp, I've unsubscribed from another four mailing lists today - low traffic nunneries about Perl and so forth. I didn't want to, but I need to get my email traffic down - it's burying me. I just can't stand thinking about everything I'm missing. Sniff. This should bring me down to about 750 a day. My goal, somehow is 500. Looong way to go.

It's Day 137 of my journey. I've answered hundreds of emails, talked database design and relationships with the clueless, and answered more about Apache then I'd normally expect to. Five hours of sleep just isn't cutting it anymore. With more deadlines, tons of new writers and events over at Gamegrene.com, and projects that just won't let me be, all I want to do is play games. Joyous games of Tidus kissing Yuna, of bench throwing at the mall, and shadow chasing. Bah. Bah, I say!

Kevin Hemenway (aka Morbus Iff) returns with his fifth article concerning Apache, OS X, and the immense power available to the common man. Having established a good, firm pool of Apache knowledge in the first four articles, Kevin takes the time to focus on a popular supplementary technology, namely the database server MySQL.

I fancy myself relatively decent at logo design and name creation - I've become relatively "known" for it, I suppose, with comments like:
20:22:20 [AaronSw] Morbus, yeah. we were trying to think up new names and she was like "if you want something sick and putrid, go ask morbus"
I've done a couple of thought transcripts for some people, eventually ending in success. Anyyyways, long story short, if you need some inspiration, check out this newly discovered site, LOGO INSPIRATION.
if you design a lot of logos, sometimes you may find it hard to get inspired, the best way of getting a instant creative boost is to look at good logos from other designers, not to copy, but to use as an influence. we aim to create a comprehensive library of logos for you to browse through at your ease.

With all the recent talk of BBEdit music and songs (Brent's inessential.com postings), followed by Sandy Wood's poetry reading (on the BBEdit-Talk list), I'm very much feeling like I'm in a perl community. What's next? BBEdit obfuscation?
It'd remind me of that old game show, "Name That Tune", where people would challenge each other to name a song in only so many notes. The same often happens in perl obfuscation - finding the shortest number of characters to complete a task. Would BBEdit be similar?
"I can strip, sort, and indent by three in four steps, Bob!"
"I can complete that task in three lines of Applescript, Bob!"
"Bob, I can do it... without using the mouse!"
... the crowd gasps ...
Early morning ramblings.

You know what I probably wouldn't spend money on, but would go "oh, neat" about? A cereal bowl with a spout on the side. That way, after you're done eating your cereal, you can easily drink all the remaining milk without it getting all over yourself (due to shallow bowls, clumsiness, cats jumping on the table, scaring the crap outta you, etc.).
