Careful - Lude'cris was a little too obvious, punnish, etc. for my tastes. It's not "funny". --Morbus Iff 11:54, 30 May 2005 (EDT)
We do have a "Bavarian Creame", though... --Dfaran L'Eniarc 14:06, 30 May 2005 (EDT)
- It doesn't matter what has already come to past: Lude'cris was too much in this entry. --Morbus Iff 15:37, 30 May 2005 (EDT)
- Hello - I am confused... is Star Wars parody not allowed? General Lude'crus is a play on the character General Grevous in the new movie. If you haven't seen the movie, this person (alien race unknown) has had ALL his body parts replaced by mechanized parts except for his eyes, his lungs and his heart. As I was writing the entry I also played on a 1970s television show: "The 6 Million Dollar Man". And as for Lude'crus being "too much" I wasn't aware that puns ie. "Lude'crus" = "Ludicrous" are not allowed. --Nikos of Ant 20:01, 30 May 2005 (EDT)
- Ahh, the great measure of humor: knowledge. I'm not a Star Wars fan, so I never would have made that connection. My sole complaint wasn't the 6 Million Dollar Man joke (though, I did remove your six million reference because it didn't hook in with any known currency from the Harrabloon Bank), but the stark, in my opinion, obviousness of the name. The fact that it was similar to ludicrous, and was used to describe a man that went ludicrously overboard in the use of the Body Bank, was just too much for me. I'd have a similar opinion if, for example, Bavarian Creame sold tasty pastries. Ignoring all that, I'm letting the name stand because the rest of the entry had merit (and will eventually become a highlighted entry once I finish the rest of the editing tomorrow.) Regardless, what is or is not parody, funny, "allowed", etc. is largely, IMO, about obviousness - I'd be perfectly fine if there were no parody at all in the entire world. "Ludicrous == lude'kris" set my "too obvious" meter a bit too high. --Morbus Iff 23:53, 30 May 2005 (EDT)
- There's also a FAQ entry on parody (Fictional World vs. Alternate Reality). --Morbus Iff 00:00, 31 May 2005 (EDT)
I don't think Technomancy is a proper phantom, is it? --Trousle Undrhil 17:53, 30 May 2005 (EDT)
- Yep, you're correct. My bad. --Morbus Iff 18:15, 30 May 2005 (EDT)
