Right, the names are changed. One of them happens to be an actual corporation acronym, but that was totally accidental. Sorry for all the extra copyediting work on this one, but I was actually getting work done at work for a change! I hope the rest of the jokes aren't too heavy-handed. --Doctor Phineas Crank 07:30, 7 Oct 2004 (EDT)

I heartily enjoyed this entry. Al Bundy, love objects, dead babies, hooHAH! --Morbus Iff 23:38, 13 Oct 2004 (EDT)

Thank you! I hope everyone caught the jokes. Of course, I snuck C3PO in there and my wife came up with the reference to Data for me. Her favorite ST:NG joke is the bit about him being "fully functional". (Luckily, she likes goofy guys with big noses, since she thinks I bear a passing resemblance to Mr. Spiner.) --Doctor Phineas Crank 07:47, 14 Oct 2004 (EDT)

Thoroughly enjoyable, especially the part about Carl Kapek. One cannot help but love obscure references, especially C3PO. --Lankin the Mad Mage 07:32, 23 Apr 2005 (EDT)

Glad you liked it. Unfortunately, the wife has since left me, so I regret the reference to her favorite joke, but, otherwise, I was rather proud of this one. --Doctor Phineas Crank 11:37, 23 Apr 2005 (EDT)

hey there! question: i tried turning "mechanauts" into an active link as i have now phantomed "mechanaut". however, by putting the double [] around "mechanauts" i have created a NEW phantom that is not attached/directed to "mechanaut" simply because of the plural "s". Now, I know this can be done... what's the trick? Also, Carl Kapek is an "obscure reference"??? I didn't think it was "obscure" but if it is, thanks for bringing him into this fine tome of encyclopedic knowledge, maybe someone will actually learn something! :) --Nikos of Ant 10:35, 17 May 2005 (EDT)

To create a link to another page, but with different text, use the following syntax: [[Mechanaut|Mechanauts]]. --Morbus Iff 11:10, 17 May 2005 (EDT)
