Anise Engine
A device of uncertain origin, but rumored to be used by the Karcist League to make their Ball Lightning Liquer. The use of the Anise Engine was outlawed, as was its product, but it has fascinated scholars of the occult for some time. No one has been able to determine what, precisely, powers the little device, nor what raw materials are required to produce its extracts. Indeed, it has been questioned if the Karcist League uses Ball Lightning Liquer in their unholy rites at all, so any connection between them and the Anise Engine is debatable.
