Here are some suggestions for the N turn, since we already don't have any more phantoms. These are general topics, as distinct from our general run of persons, places, and specific things. I've long believed that the Encyclopedia needs more such: naps, narrative, nature, neatness, necessity, negation, negotiator, nerves, neutralist, news, newts, night, nimbus, nincompoop, nippers, nitpicking, nitrification, nocturne, noise, nomination, notions, noumena, nubility, numismatics, nuncupation, nurture. --John Cowan 09:14, 23 Aug 2005 (EDT)
- Should we be dibbing new entries beginning with N, or does the Rule of X apply? I assumed that Rule of X refered to any letter (X as a varaible, refering to any letter, rather than only words beginning with X), but I've been wrong about the rules before. I've dibbed something else already, but I can delete that if I should be picking something beginning with N. --Brother Arfrus 13:58, 23 Aug 2005 (EDT)
- No, the rule of X only applies to turn, and letter, X. The intent of it is, largely, "most made-up X words sound stupid". There is no such problem for most other letters. --Morbus Iff 14:23, 23 Aug 2005 (EDT)
I finally got around to setting up a form of spellchecking. In the sidebar "toolbox", you'll see a new "Fix misspellings" link (or you will when your cache updates), which'll show every page that has a misspelling as determined by this gigantar list. The syntax of that page is simply "incorrect (correct)", and you're more than welcome to add or modify it. There are only a few Ghyll-words; one example is "Thunderbarg (Thungerbarg)". Unfortunately, this spellchecking is not interactive... you'll always have to go to the "Fix misspellings" page to see any errors made. --Morbus Iff 10:56, 29 Apr 2005 (EDT)
