Proposed new rule, effective with Round 2, turn B
I propose that starting with turn 2B, we allow a user to expand an existing article starting with the correct letter rather than writing a new article. Expansion means that new facts can be added, though they may not contradict existing facts either in the same article or in other articles, as usual; it is distinct from normal mad-editing, where no new facts may be introduced.
- Anyone may expand an article, including the original author.
- Expansion is dibbed for, and excludes dibbing for a new article.
- No new citations may be added.
- The expander's byline is placed under the original author's.

- I thought there already were rules for editing old articles, weren't there? --Dfaran L'Eniarc 17:30, 25 May 2005 (EDT)
- My preference is that only the original author have access to expand an article (unless the author give up that right - by stating so in the talk section, for example) and that the expansion be an addendum added under the original entry but above any running commentary, otherwise said commentary will not make sense. --Nikos of Ant 20:44, 30 May 2005 (EDT)
- I personally disagree. There are already roughly twenty players that have no intention of returning, and any rule that finitely defined ownership would hinder gameplay. In fact, I'd be more supportive of a rule that stated the original author MUST NOT edit their own entry. --Morbus Iff 23:55, 30 May 2005 (EDT)
- Ah, I did NOT think about non-returning players. With that in mind you are quite right that my "rights to access" idea is not workable. --Nikos of Ant 11:02, 31 May 2005 (EDT)
- But wouldn't a rule stating that the original author must not edit their own entry finitely define ownership in its own way? --Dfaran L'Eniarc 01:41, 3 Jun 2005 (EDT)
- But in this context it's ok to define the ownership, since the non-returning players would never be the wiser about it and it's their entries which we want to be able to edit in the future. --Trousle Undrhil 02:09, 3 Jun 2005 (EDT)

I finally got around to setting up a form of spellchecking. In the sidebar "toolbox", you'll see a new "Fix misspellings" link (or you will when your cache updates), which'll show every page that has a misspelling as determined by this gigantar list. The syntax of that page is simply "incorrect (correct)", and you're more than welcome to add or modify it. There are only a few Ghyll-words; one example is "Thunderbarg (Thungerbarg)". Unfortunately, this spellchecking is not interactive... you'll always have to go to the "Fix misspellings" page to see any errors made. --Morbus Iff 10:56, 29 Apr 2005 (EDT)
